Plays Well With Others

Not that you care,

Not that you care, and I could care less if I get sympathy at this point, but here’s a typical night in my life at the moment.

Picture one of those really hot nights. You know the ones. It’s nighttime, but the room is still hotter than hell. You are wearing your lightest pajamas, you’ve torn your sheets off, opened your window and you are still sweating like a hog. Okay, now you have that picture in your head right? Okay, now imagine that, and set yourself on fire. That’s a typical night in my life at the moment.

The rash that covers my entire body is itchy. It’s also hot. So, I lay in bed with a bottle of Caladryl cream next to me for those emergency itch-fests. I’m up about every ten minutes spreading some of that somewhere … it wears off pretty quickly. The rash also causes my skin to be unbearably hot all night long. So, I’m up about every half hour wetting a towel to keep me cool.

So, I’m up all night spreading ointments and wetting towels … and getting water to drink. See, the heat caused by the rash causes me to become dehydrated really quickly. Like, as soon as I take a drink, I’m dehydrated.

I asked the nurse today how long it would last and she told me it should go down in 3 to 5 days. Go me! If it doesnt kill me, then I’ll throw a big ole party and invite all my closest friends. Until then I’ll be hibernating in my house … I look gawd-awful.
