Plays Well With Others

I like my journal. Really

I like my journal. Really I do, its fun to do. I’m not, however, to join flocks of journalers at a place called JournalCon, to talk about, well … journals for a weekend. It’s just not my thing.

I remember when my jobs used to make me attend computer “expos”. I always felt like the biggest geek in the world. I mean here is a room filled with wall to wall pocket protectors oooooing and ahhhhhing over the slightest new software enhancement or computer color. I swear you could hear people saying things like, “Wow … they have it in blueberry now! I just have to have that!” or “OHMYGOD, a 750mhz computer … I think I just wet myself!!” Like I said, wall to wall dorks.

And then there was me. I’d spend the day there walking around, glancing at the products, only half interested. I mean, I’ll admit some of the computers were cool, and some of the demonstrations caught my eye, but in the end nothing impressed me to the point of, well … wetting myself.

So we turn to the thing known as JournalCon, a fun filled weekend or something filled with journalers like Rob or Pamie, two journalers I love. I just have no interest in flying across the country to spend a weekend with journalers.

I’d rather have a small meeting of people I’d love to meet. People like Katie or Tim or Krys or so many others, and of course I’d include those of you that actually read this thing. Now that would be a fun meeting. People I’ve spent time talking to … or in Tim’s case, ribbing the hell out of.

So, who wants to attend GregCon or CommixionCon or AllAboutMeCon …

ps: good lord, did I link enough people.. I hope you all appreciate my giving ways … see how nice and wonderful I am. Enough about you, now lets talk about me.

I like my journal. Really I do. It’s fun, but I dont think I’m ready to go to a journal conference, like JournalCon, to meet journalers from around the world. Like, when I had to go to computer conferences, I always felt like the biggest geek. I mean here is a room filled with pocket protectors walking around ooooooing and ahhhhing over a new software enhancement, or a new color for the iMac. “Wow, they have Blueberry now … I have to have that!!” or “Ohmygod … 700mhz of power, I think I just wet myself!” Okay there chachi, calm the hell down!!

Anyhow, JournalCon is just not for me. I mean, sure, people like
