You all remember me mentioning
You all remember me mentioning how I had some friends over last Saturday while my roommate was out, right? Well, if you dont its in the archives.
Anyhow … two of them live about five minutes from my house. Seems that within the five minute drive, they were in a pretty bad car accident. They were make a turn on a green light and a young kid making a right turn against his light tried to beat them to the turn and hit them head on.
The kid walked away from the crash with only a few scratches, my friends were a little more unfortunate. Their four month old Explorer was totalled, my male friend broke his finger from the airbag deploying, and the female friend had her right foot totally smashed. The doctors said every bone in her foot was broken and if they didnt operate immediately they’d have to remove the foot. The operation went well and now there are metal pins and cast in place for the next few months.
Luckily she works for a attorney, so they’ll probably recover the cost of the car, plus $100,000 in damages, medical and pain and suffering. But it could have been much worse.
Just goes to show you that even five minutes from your house, you aren’t safe, so drive carefully.
