Maybe I can pay my rent now …
I got a summons to appear in court today. Actually its a summons for jury duty. I feel like I’m serving every three months at this point, but I think it’s been about six months or so.
I hear that you can get paid fifteen bucks a day on jury duty and me without a job … hmm … You can see where I’m going here. I could just make a career out of serving on juries. I mean, fifteen bucks a day to sit and decide whether someone is guilty or not. Thats about $450 a month free and clear.
Okay, so I’d probably need a regular job to pay car payments and stuff but that extra $450 could easily be used to pay my astronomical electric bill or something.
Anyhow, the summons is for February 27th. I’m probably going to have to ask for a postponement because hopefully by that point, I’ll be starting a new job and missing a week for Wifey™s visit and then missing more days for jury duty all at once might not be a good way to start a job.
There must be other people available to do this sort of thing … gawd.
