The job saga continues …

So, I accepted a position with a local company and as I’m leaving the second interview my new boss tells me to be aware that the company does extensive background checks on people. He even shared that when they checked him out they couldnt find anyone to verify that he attended the college he attended, and then they couldnt verify that he worked at his last employer. It all worked out in the end. I joked with him that I hoped my former coworkers would still be at Snowball for them to talk to.

Well, they called me up yesterday saying they were having trouble verifying some of my information. I was surprised that rather than them having trouble finding my former coworkers they are instead having trouble getting information on my schooling. Seems the college can’t verify some information, which is creating some problems. I’ve got all the transcripts but they still can’t verify something … most likely a computer glitch of some sort. The problem now is that the new company can’t have me start until they get this verified. Ack!

I figure that I’ll keep working with the college to figure out what the problem is, and tell the new job that I’ll have to take another one if this is going to create too much of a problem. At this point its just a wait and see game. I was supposed to start on Monday and then it was moved to Wednesday … which is today … now who knows what the start date will be.
