Movin’ and Shakin’, Baby
This coming week will be hell. Not only is my roommate moving out, and I’m moving into her room, and I’m cleaning out my room and setting it up for the new guy, but also, next week is moving week at work. Ack!
Roommate should be moving out on Tuesday or Wednesday … or Thursday. It keeps getting moved back, just like everything else. Started out with her moving out on Monday or Tuesday. Then it moved to “most likely Wednesday”. Now it’s “more than likely Thursday”. Great. New guy is moving in on Friday. There’s not moving on THAT date. And the room he’s moving into is still being occupied by yours truly. Meaning, that if her ass isnt out of her room on Wednesday night, I’m not going to have much time to haul my ass into her room. I’m hoping for at least Thursday night to move my bed, desk, clothes, shelves and other miscellaneous crap into the room next door. Sounds simple, but I’m sure it won’t be.
For one thing, my mattresses are big and heavy. Just moving then to the other side of room, nearly caused a miocardial infarction. I can just imagine what will happen when I try to move them into the room next door. I’m imagining myself pinned under the mattresses in the hallway, unable to call for help. What a way to die.
My living room is filled with new guy’s room. The mattresses and bedding are all piled up in the living room, the frames are in my room (soon to be his room), ready to be set up.
Now if all this moving isnt enought to throw me in to spasms, I spent the day cleaning. I cleaned the bathtub and the sink, and also cleaned up the counters in the kitchen. I’m hoping to get to the floors and carpets on Thursday night … along with all my moving.
So, on top of all of this, I’m expected to help box up the office at work, for our big move on Friday. Luckily, since I’m the new guy at work, my cubicle will require only one box to pack. Mostly office supplies and paperwork that I’m currently using.
I dont think I’ll ever want to move anything again …
