Overheard …

Let’s blame the baby killers and gays …

Seems that’s what Jerry Falwell wants to do. Seems in his twisted way, he blames the fact that American’s don’t believe enough in God to what happened in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. Here’s what he said on a recent broadcast of Pat Robertson’s 700 Club …

“Throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools,” he said. “The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad.

“[T]he pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way — all of them who have tried to secularize America,” Falwell continued, “I point the finger in their face and say ‘you helped this happen.'”

Of course this is ludicrous and the two have finally shown how off the deep end they really are. What pisses me off more though, is that there are people that follow these two crackpots and are actually agreeing with them. You know, because we all know that the reason the terrorists went haywire is because of the gays, the feminists and the abortionists. Yeah … uh huh.

I dont think God would do that to us. So whatever that fruitcake is hearing in his head is definately the wrong frequency. Time to change stations dude.

Condit who?

There’s got to be one guy that’s probably happy to have some attention off of him. Gary Condit hasn’t been mentioned hardly at all since this began, and I’m sure whatever FBI agents were on his case before are probably on terrorist patrol now. So, for now, Condit is out of the news scene.

Of course, that doesnt help find Chandra Levy. And of course I’m sure her parents are pissed that there’s no attention on this anymore. I mean if the girl is in hiding, well, no one’s going to find her now. She could stand in the middle of Times Square at this point and no one would even take notice of her. And if she’s not alive anymore, it could be years before anyone finds anything.

News coverage …

How many people think that some of the news coverage is going a little overboard? I dont mean overboard like reporting too much, although they are. But overboard by sensationalizing everything. I mean, why the hell do they have to title everything like its a Movie of the Week. I’ve been watching different stations with big, bold titles like “America At War” and “America Under Seige” and “America Under Attack”. I hate that shit. I’m sick and tired of the glamorization and sensationalization of the news. You know damn well, while all of this is going on, there is some guy sitting behind his desk thinking about ratings. How can WE capitalize off of this. Ugh … makes me want to heave.

American flag sales …

As we all know, suddenly everyone is patriotic Americans. Gotta have that flag in their back window or on their houses. Funny how most of these people never owned a flag before now. Hmm, where’d all this patriotism come from. Not that I mind people finally waking up and having pride in their country.

What’s pissing me off more than that though is the fact that you can’t even find a flag at this point. I mean, it wouldnt be a big deal if those flags were purchased by individual people to display in their homes or cars, but what’s happening now is that greedy fuckers are buying up the flags in bulk and then selling them on eBay for like $200 a pop. A fucking 3×5 foot flag for $200 when you could’ve paid $25 for it at WalMart. I’m hoping that people aren’t actually considering paying that for a flag. Personally, I think eBay should do something about it. I mean, that’s ridiculous, insensitive and inappropriate. I already have a flag and was actually able to order a couple more online without any problem to give to friends looking for some, but it makes me sick that people are taking advantage of this.

Capitalism at its worst in my opinion.
