Plays Well With Others

And it’s over …

So, this year is finally over. Thank God!

Ugh. It’s been a year that I’ll never, ever forget. Probably the most active year of my entire life, and hopefully the last I’ll ever have like this. A year in review would go something like this …

Happy, happy, joy, joy – I’m engaged. Holy fucking shit – I’m unemployed. Yippee – Wifey™ is coming to visit. Things are looking up – I got a job. Jesus Christ – It fell through. Hooray – I got another job. Woohoo – Wifey™ will be here in just a few days. OHMYGOD – America’s been attacked. YAY – Wifey™ is finally here, and we are getting married.

And so the year is over. It’s been a year full of ups and downs, and I think 2001 will go down as a year no one will ever forget.

On a related note, here’s something that’s really going to throw me for a loop in 2002. Since I was born, our NBC station has always been on Channel 4. Without cable, or with it’s always been channel 4. Everyone is familiar with it, you always know where to find your shows, no problem. So, a year or so ago, Channel 4 was sold to a new broadcaster, and that broadcaster wanted to charge NBC a little more to air there shows. Sounds find, right? Well, no. It didnt really work out that way and NBC is moving to another channel. Ugh.

So, our channel 4 has decided to become “The Bay Area’s News Station”, sort of a CNN all about San Francisco, while NBC is moving to Channel 11 or Cable Channel 3. There have been commericials all over town advertising the new NBC3, along with plenty about Channel 4’s new format.

I dont know about it all, it’s just a little strange to me. Especially since half of the Bay Area can’t get the new NBC station due to the fact that it’s not in San Francisco and the mountain ranges block the signal. Ugh. I know I get it, but half of the peopel living in the South Bay wont be able to watch any NBC shows, not even on cable, I think. Ugh.

Anyway, today Wifey™ had to work, so I was the house hubby, putting the Christmas stuff away and cleaning the house up, and on a side project, I built a hutch for our office desk. So, ending this year, it’s been a full day. Tonight, it’s over to my mom’s house for some mexican food and watching the ball drop in Times Square, for what’s GOT to be an extraordinary New Years bash in New York.

For now, all my best wishes for a happy and safe New Years. Here’s to a wonderful 2002.
