Plays Well With Others

Time Flies …

Another year gone already? It seems that they are going by faster these days. I’ve been feeling that way for awhile now. The weeks just fly by. They really do. I remember a time when things moved slowly, when the year didn’t go by so quickly. Now it’s at a blazing speed. It’s almost scary. I mean, we are only on this Earth for a finite amount of time and if it keeps up at this speed, it’ll be over before I even realize it. Ugh. Nice way to start up a new year.

Anyhow, 2002 has been quite the year. The first entire year of marriage for me, and the beginning of a marriage for one set of my friends. Another couple had a kid. I guess it’s just the beginning of that period when our friends start having kids and starting families. Hmm.

Like I said before, 2002 went by quickly. Nothing really stands out in my mind as a big moment or a big occasion this year. And now it ends and we look forward to the beginning of 2003. Ugh. What the hell happened to 2001?

Anyhow, as usual, Wifey™ and I are bunkering down for the night. Neither of us are that excited about the prospect of being out in public on this night when all the crazies are out. Might sound kind of old fogeyish, but I swear that people are acting more and more like idiots these days. I sure as hell don’t want 2002 to be the last year I’m alive, so why take a chance. We’ll be going to my mom’s house to spend it with her and my sister and her boyfriend, watching the ball drop. It should be fun and a safe way to ring in the New Year.

Last year we did the same thing and the year before I was in Canada proposing to Wifey™ at a nice little restaurant called “La Savignon”. So, although New Year’s Eve has a special place in both our hearts, we also want to spend it in the safety of our home or with family so we can be around for the next year.

Happy New Year to everyone … here’s to 2003!
