Plays Well With Others

Bay to Breakers: The Movie

sp_breakers03.jpg

With another Bay To Breakers under our belts, we are exhausted. The nearly 8 miles of walking through The City took it’s toll on us and our bodies are just now getting over the pain. But we wouldn’t have missed it for anything.

Bay to Breakers is a San Francisco tradition, dating back to 1912. The proceeds support a number of causes in the area and runners (and walkers) come from all over the world to be a part of it. The running joke is that if you aren’t Kenyan, you probably don’t have much of a chance of winning.

Sunday morning, Wifey™ and I got up pretty early to get ready and head to the nearest BART train to get us deep into The City. The race starts downtown and winds its way through some of the more interesting neighborhoods and then out to the ocean. I figured that it would be a great way for Wifey™ to see some parts of The City that she might not otherwise see. And see it she did. Along with some of the naked people (and those with costumes) that make the race more interesting.

In all it took us two hours and forty-five minutes to cross the finish line … walking the whole eight miles. Another Bay Area tradition under our belts.. now I need to find a good masseuse.
