Plays Well With Others

Mini Update …

This will be a short one. The weekend was pretty relaxing for a change. Not much running around to do besides the usual stuff. Saturday, we did some light errands and made a run to the dumps with my mom.

If you’ve never been to the city garbage dump, I’d recommend that you avoid it at all costs. It’s gross. Exactly what you’d expect a dump to be like. You can smell it a mile away and once you get in, fresh air comes at a premium. Basically, we could have had the garbage company come out and haul the stuff away, but they’d also charge a premium. Driving out there costs about $10, so it’s probably worth it in the end. Of course, while you’re up there you sort of feel like you’re going to hurl.

Ours sits atop a mountain. There are no paved roads and you basically are driving on top of the garbage. There are people who are hired to direct traffic and let you know where you should dump your crap. Once you dump the crap out of your car, there are people that begin swiftly sifting through it to find anything that might possibly have some use and then a huge machine comes along and grinds whatever remains into a pulp. Finally, a machine comes along and scoops the shit up, puts it on another pile, crushes it again and then covers it in dirt. And did I mention that it smells like crap up there. Ugh.

Sunday was our weekly weigh-in. Wifey™ and I have been doing this for seven weeks and so far I’ve lost fifteen pounds. I’m trying for thirty-five more to get within a reasonable range, so I’ve got some work ahead of me, but it’s much easier than I originally thought it’d be. At least we aren’t on some rice diet or something. On this, we can actually eat normal food. And even with fifteen pounds lost, all my clothes are getting baggy on me. And that’s a good thing.

Today, I’m home from work. The last two weeks, I’ve been getting a pinched nerve in my neck. It goes away and then comes back and it’s painful as hell. At least when I have to move or hold my head up. If I remain absolutely still, there’s no problems. Ugh. So, I’m attempting to make an appointment to see my doctor and maybe get some muscle relaxers or something to dull the pain. Anything would be better than this.

I need drugs.

Update: Woohoo. Got me some drugs. Just back from the doctor, who said that it’s probably a muscle spasm. Strange thing is that I had the exact same thing last week, but regardless, I got me some drugs. An anti-inflammatory called Vioxx and some muscle relaxers called Skelaxin. All I know is that I’ll be sleeping well tonight. Shit, after the muscle relaxers, I probably won’t even feel my neck, or my body. Anyhoo.
