Making the Move …

The house buying drama has finally taken a turn this weekend, when we went to visit a place down the street from where we currently live. As far as space goes, it’ll work for our current needs. It’s got a master bedroom and a second for the office. It’s got a full bathroom upstairs and a half bathroom downstairs and the kitchen is small but decent for our needs. There’s only two of us afterall, so we don’t need a mansion. It’s a crackerjack box compared to what you could get for the same money anywhere else in the country but putting it into perspective, it’s a good deal for the Bay Area. Most important though is the location, which is about two blocks from Wifey™’s job.

So, we’re hoping that today we’ll make our first offer on the place and see what happens from there. We could get outbid by someone else, the seller might decide not to sell it or we could get it. We’re hoping for the latter, so it doesn’t turn into a painful experience, but we’ll see. We have a twinge of excitment over the decision, just for the fact that if we get it, we can end or hunt.

We’re already aware that anywhere else we could afford much, much more and to be honest, I really don’t want to hear it anymore. The decision is hard enough without having it rubbed in our faces that in most parts of the country the money we’re spending could buy us a mini-mansion. So be happy for us and wish us the best. That’s really what I’m looking for right now.

Ugh. And the process begin … I’m going to hurl as we prepare to make the biggest decision in our lives, so far.
