Townhouse Drama Continues …

This is short and sweet because there’s really not much to say about it. We made our offer the other day, which went just fine. There was another couple also bidding, so we made what we thought was an aggressive offer, roughly $14,000 over the asking price, but asking for $7,000 back to cover closing costs. So, in reality we were offering only $7,000 over the asking price. Anyhow, the offer was sent in and countered by the seller. She wanted more money to make the deal. Ugh.

Turns out she wanted $2,000 more. You kind of have to feel its stupid but I think she wanted a “round number”. And over the term of the loan, $2,000 doesn’t really add anything to our monthly payments, so we went ahead and agreed. Really, it’s like offering someone $1,000 and then having them say that they’ll make the deal for another $1. Anyhow, as far as I can tell we’ve got it. But I’m not holding my breathe until all the inspections are done and the paperwork has officially gone through.

So, we’ve got an inspection on Friday and then I guess we find out some kind of word at that point. I guess. Ugh.
