Plays Well With Others

‘Til The Fat Lady Sings…

Well, the election is tomorrow. At least we know that in the next month or so, someone will be President and we won’t have to hear about it anymore. It’s pretty disheartening to know that no matter who wins, they BARELY won. Just goes to show you how divided the country is and how unhappy EVERYONE is with the choices we have. If Bush wins, he goes in knowing half the country supported Kerry, and vice versa. That’s got to suck. Knowing that 50% of the American people aren’t behind you. Ugh.

According to www.electoral-vote.com, a site the Republicans were in favor of when they were ahead, is now showing Kerry ahead 298-231 electoral votes. Of course, it’s just based on polls and who the hell really knows how it’s all going to end. It really depends on whether people are honest and whether the lawyers get involved and decide that certain votes won’t count. Ugh. Elections are getting ugly. You’d think it was the World Series instead of a race to determine who is the most fit to run our country… and not into the ground.

No matter who you support, go out and vote tomorrow. Here’s some stuff pulled from www.electoral-vote.com:

1. Find out today where your polling place is by calling your county clerk or checking www.mypollingplace.com
2. Alternatively, call 1-866-MYVOTE1 to find your polling place.
3. Check the hours the polls are open with your city or county clerk.
4. Print the League of Women Voters’ card in English or Spanish and put it in your wallet or purse.
5. Bring a government-issued picture ID like a driver’s license or passport when you vote. Some states require it but if there are problems, you will certainly need it. If you have a cell phone, take it to call for help if need be.
6. As you enter the polls, note if there is an Election Protection person outside the polling place.
7. If you are not listed as a registered voter, try to register on the spot. Some states allow that. Otherwise, talk to the Election Protection person if there is one or call 1-866-OUR-VOTE for instructions. If neither of these helps, ask for a provisional ballot, but you will need a picture ID to get one.

In other related news, it was nice to see Osama again. I believe the Bush administration led us to believe that he wasn’t doing so hot hiding up in those mountains, while we were off hunting him down. The video that appeared last week, showed a freshly showered and healthy looking Osama looking pretty darn good. Looks like the only person that was hiding in a hole while being hunted down, was Sadam. Meanwhile, Osama is sitting by the pool wondering where everyone is. Yeah.

Vote Kerry. Let’s stop worrying about the oil and fighting daddy’s battles and start worrying about education and healthcare back home. Maybe next year, we’ll have enough flu shots for everyone.

Ugh. This election won’t be over ’til the fat lady sings and by the looks of the last one, she could be singing for a LONG time.

You know, it’s interesting how many Bush-haters have been saying this entire run-up to the election that bin Laden has been in America’s pocket for months now, and Bush would pull him out the week before the election to seal the electoral victory.

Now, it’s “I believe the Bush administration led us to believe that he wasn‚Äö?Ñ?¥t doing so hot hiding up in those mountains, while we were off hunting him down.” Pick one or the other, but you can’t have it both ways.

I believe I can have it any way I want. I remember when Bush started his “war on terrorism” he said that he’d track down the people that knocked down the towers and killed all of those people. Last week we watched a video of Osama Bin Laden basically admitting that he was responsible for 9/11 and instead of having all of our troops in Afghanistan searching for him, we’re in Iraq trying to just stay alive. We’re paying to fix a country that we destroyed, paying for a war that we shouldn’t have gone into without more planning and more allies on our side. I truly believe that with or without 9/11, Bush planned on going into Iraq to take Saddam out. He’s filling oil reserves at a time when oil is at an all time high and at a time when oil should be released to help lower gas prices. He’s taken a budget surplus and in four short years turned it into a record budget deficit. I find it funny how blind people who support Bush are and have to wonder if your allegiance is truly with the man or with the party he represents. The first president to lose jobs. The first president to hit such a record deficit. A president that has put more effort into the War in Iraq, than he’s put into the war on health, hunger and education here at home. God help each and every one of us if he wins another four years.
