Plays Well With Others

Hit Me Baby, One More Time…

Thursday nights on NBC, a show about singers that were popular back in the day, come back to perform their hits, one more time. The show is called Hit Me Baby, One More Time and it’s sort of like a train wreck that you just HAVE to watch.

Last nights performers included Loverboy, Tiffany, Arrested Development and Flock of Seagulls. Yeah, half of the people who stop by this site probably have NO clue who those groups/singers are… and that’s sort of the point of the show. Take a group or singer that had a hit or a couple of hits back in the day, bring them back to perform their hits and also have them performs hits from today and have the audience choose a winner from the group of four.

It’s interesting in that “what do they look like now” sort of way. Overall, they did fairly well. The one disappointment was Flock of Seagulls who sang their song “I RUN”… and I think most people wanted to do just that when they started singing it. Ugh. It actually sounded like a karaoke version of their song. It’s strange seeing a bunch of middle aged guys walk on stage and sing their hit song and have it sound like karaoke. Oh well.

Overall, I’ll probably tune in or Tivo the show just for that train wreck effect. Once you see a good one, you have to keep watching to see who will escape the twisted wreckage. Ugh. It’s not like there’s anything else to watch.
