Plays Well With Others

Hybrid Style…

Probably, next year or so, Wifey™ and I will need to look into buying a second car. Hard to believe, in this age of everyone needing their own transportation‚Äîeven if one car goes unused half the time, but we’ve managed to “survive” with only one so far. We could probably go longer with only one car, but we’re finding that sometimes it’d be nice to be able to go in separate directions and increase our productivity.

With gas prices spiraling out of control, the last thing we need is something that sucks fuel for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even our CRV uses very little gas and I can fill it up for about $30, which lasts all week, sometimes more. So, we’re thinking‚Äîmeaning more research is needed‚Äîabout a Hybrid of some sort. Right now the pickings are slim, but in the next year maybe we’ll see a few more companies join the fold. Of course, being a part of the Honda family already, staying with them is tempting with the Civic and the Accord‚Äîboth Hybrids.

I did a little research and found that the design of the Civic is going to radically change next year. I’ve never been fond of the Civic’s looks, because they’ve always been too boxy… but this new looks adds that aerodynamic flair I tend to find appealing. Inside, they’ve added newer looking controls and even a navigation system‚Äîwhich people that know me will serve me well, since I get lost pulling out of the driveway.

Don’t get me wrong, this is far from my dream car, but right now we’re not looking at dream cars. We’re looking at fuel efficient, compacts that will give us the most bang for our buck. Anyhow, here’s a photo of the new design and you can click the link above for more information on the 2006 Civics.
