Plays Well With Others

Brr…It’s Cold In Here…

Milpitas Hills Snow

Mother Nature’s been crapping on us this week, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Of all things to happen in March, we got snow. Ugh.

There’s a reason we live in the Bay Area and are willing to pay sky-high prices for housing and everything else—the temperature is on average 70 degrees year-round, we have beautiful views and the only natural disaster we have to worry about are earthquakes, which rarely happen. Yeah. So hail and snow kind of throws us off a little bit. If I wanted snow, I’d move to the east coast and would’ve only spent 1/5 of the amount on a house. Instead, we opted for sunny California…with snow in March.

As it is, our seasons are three months off. Summer weather tends to be from September through November, with October typically being the best. Fall weather is during our Christmas months through the New Year, and right now in March we’re in our typical Wintery weather months, where we usually get our rainy, colder weather. Of course, cold in the Bay Area is usually in the 40’s and 50’s. Summer highs are in the 90’s and 100’s. That’s why I use the average-70 as our typical temperature.

In all seriousness though, the weather’s been a little out of whack lately. Lots of rain, very strong wind, hail and something we rarely get, snow. It’s fun for about a day, but my house isn’t buried in it like those people living in the hills. The newspeople said the snow would fall down to sea-level, but would mostly stick up near 1000 feet. The Bay Area is all hills, so depending on where you live, you might get some, you might not. But yeah… snow.
