Plays Well With Others

And It’s Only Two Days In…

Like I said a couple of days ago, living life isn’t always glamorous, but as a blogger writing about it is what I do. The weekend was pretty chill, as I also wrote about. Before heading over to see the gliders, I took a short hike up to “Sign Hill” in South San Francisco. The “T” you see is in the word “City”. Getting my fat ass up that hill nearly killed me because it’s basically straight up. Ugh. But it was worth it because at the top of the mountain was an amazing view of the city, the Bay and of a nice bench to plant my ass on. That was Sunday.

Monday was pretty slow at work, but I found a few projects to keep me busy. That night, as we were sitting and relaxing in front of the set, we heard some hard rain coming down. Within seconds, it started to come down even harder and moments later it sounded like someone was literally dumping a bucket of water outside our front door. I HAD to open the door to check it out and discovered that it was actually hailing pea size rocks from the sky. You know that hard, hard hail type of rain. I managed to close the door before too many came into the house. Strange how mother nature can dump that on us and then the morning is all sunny and warm.

Today I woke up with a sore throat, but chugged on. I’ve been fighting this cold/allergy type of thing for a couple of weeks. I succumbed a few weeks ago and then started to feel better and then the last week have had the itchy eyes, sore throat, and headaches. It’s probably the weird weather messing with me. Probably also why I didn’t feel the earthquake we had today. As it is, it takes a lot for me to feel them.

And then tonight I had a committee meeting. It went well and like usual, I learn a lot. As committee chairman I try to keep the meetings casual and fun. Funny thing happened last night—I headed over, unlocked the doors and started to set up… and then realized I was there on the wrong day. Yeah. See what happens when you’re working under a handicap. Not quite short bus handicap, but I’m sure someday I’ll get there.

Ugh. Two days in and I’m already looking for the end of the week again. That’s how living life works, I guess.
