Another Year…
Another year older today means that I’ll be seeing a few more white hairs and get one step closer to retirement. This year I’ll also get one more week of vacation at work, but other than that though there isn’t much else that comes to a 33 year old.
Just the other day I was thinking of some of the ways that age is hitting me. Like those white hairs that appear on my head. Of course, I’ll take what I can get these days. And those really long nose hairs. I should invest in a hose hair trimmer, but I always envision sticking that thing up there and having it just start ripping nose hairs out. Nothing can make your eyes water more than pulling out a nose hair. Even the strongest of men can’t take a pulled nose hair. And on the topic of hair, eyebrow hairs. Dang. Some of those have lives of their own. They grow a foot. And yes, sometimes I actually need to pluck them, which hurts like bloody hell. The kind of hurt where it feels like you not only pulled the hair root, but also the pulled it straight out of your brain somehow. I’m not going for shape, just randomly pull the really long ones. It’s the metrosexual in me. I don’t want to be blinded by a stray eyebrow hair. Yeah and the excitement builds.
I hear that around 40, you start to find white pubes. Great. Something to look forward to. For now I’ll be content with my long nose hairs and eyebrow hairs.
That’s it so far for my birthday. Another year down.
I did get an early morning call from my mom this morning. I jumped out of bed to listen to the message and this is what I got, “Hi, this is your mom… don’t forget the spackle knife today”. Erm. Like I said, there’s not much else. Happy Birthday to me.
