Wedding Labor Day…

Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do

Another three-day weekend is upon us. A time for reflection about the meaning of the holiday, the history, working… Oh who am I kidding. It’s about sitting on your butt and doing absolutely nothing on a day when you’d usually be at work.

Wifey™ and I have a family wedding to attend on Sunday. I agreed quite some time ago to be the videographer for the ceremony and some of the reception. So we’ll have to arrive about an hour early to give me time to scout out the church and figure out a good location. I was told there’s a balcony somewhere, but if it’s at the back, I’d end up with shots of the backs of people’s heads. And it’s possible that if I’m too far away, I wouldn’t get much in terms of audio. So, I’ll need to scout it out and see what we can put together.

Typically, I’d rather be kept busy at family events because otherwise I just get bored. I’m not big on small talk or just sitting around, so being the photographer or videographer is a good excuse to keep busy.

At the reception, I’ll probably get some basic shots of toasts and dancing and cake cutting and that should do it. Once I get all the footage home, I can put it all into the computer and splice it all together to put on a DVD.

And then Monday, Wifey™ is working, so it’ll just be me and the house, off work for a day to relax and enjoy.

Weddings are easy. I used to to DJ weddings and do video recording before I picked up a gun to protect American. HAHAHAHA!
