Paper or Plastic?
San Francisco has become the first city in the nation to ban plastic bags in grocery stores and pharmacies. This ban is limited to most chain-type stores and not the smaller mom and pop businesses. The ban is intended to eliminate petroleum-based plastic bags that tend to use up nearly half a million gallons of oil and also add 1,400 tons of garbage to landfills.
