Yo, dawgs and hoes. 1990 in da house. Turn up the bass. Crank up those speakers and get little jiggy with some beats from old skool, 2 Live Crew. Ghetto. Word.
I remember when this was actually banned. Quite the controversy. All it did was drive more and more sales, because if you ban something then you just HAVE to have it even more than before. Now it’s just tame compared to some of the shit out there. Certainly, they did use the words “fuck”, “dick” and “pussy” all in one song, but it’s still tame. I mean, without the words, it’s almost catchy with it’s crazy beat. Ugh.
Funny how as I get older, I get more open-minded about music that I’d have never listened to when I was younger. I think I’m going backwards. There’s quite a bit of old school rap that I listen to now that I never listened to back in the day.

While I tend to be a bit more liberal about music as I get older, Rap just offends me. I don’t know if it’s the police officer in me or not, but I hate it. The good news is that I can’t stand Barry Manilow anymore, either.
I find that most country offends me. I’m also not big on the newer gansta rap, just some of the old school stuff from my youth, that I never really listened to. To me, if I can’t understand the words, I don’t want to hear it. And with most rap, I can’t understand the words.
And don’t worry, if I get pulled over chances are slim to none that I’ll be wearing a dew rag, have my seat leaning back with one hand on the steering wheel or be listening to rap as the bass in my Honda CRV blows out.
Oh, and Brent, I keep meaning to tell you that you need to get your RSS feeds working. I’m trying to add you to my bloglines, but it seems like you don’t have a feed. Dude…eeeeeeveryone has feeds these days, if you’re cool and stuff.
I’m sure blogspot has the feature so maybe you just need to turn it on or something.
