Plays Well With Others

Where’s my damn computer?

You all know how much I enjoy the show Freaks and Geeks … I’ve written about it in a couple of different entries. Tonight I spent the night writing to NBC to save the show from cancellation. Seems the word is leaking out that the show is hanging from a thread. I actually first heard of this from reading an Entertainment Weekly article … which I also wrote to, to thank them. Then I wrote to the actual Freaks and Geeks producers to tell them that I’m fighting for them. It worked for Party of Five and it’ll work for this show.

I’m actually fuming mad that the networks could possibly do this to another show I love to watch. It seems that everytime a good show comes along, they cancel it without giving it any chance at all … meanwhile stupid shows … stupid cartoon shows … stupid shows about nothing last years and years. ACCCKKK!! I’m going to develop an anurism over this …

I dont normally write letters to anyone, but I’m tired of letting studios take away the very few shows I actually watch. Probably three or four shows I like to watch … and the studios want to take them away … I think not. I’d tell the cast themselves how awesome they are, but since that won’t happen … this will have to do. Good luck to them.

Here are some email addresses to write to if you want to join me in sending letters … just write one anyway and help me out.

Entertainment Weekly: letters@ew.com
Freaks and Geeks Producers: frksngeeks@aol.com

Okay, so enought melodrama for one night … I’ve emailed everyone I can and now have to wait for something to happen. I watched the Partridge family movie tonight … not because I care about the show, but because it was on and it filled time … actually I’m watching it while I’m doing this.

I figured that since it’s taken the service shop three weeks to fix my printer … no I still don’t have it back … I think they are keeping it … but I thought I’d bring my Powerbook in for service too. Who needs a computer system anyway? I mean they cost tons of money and then they spend all their time in a service shop. My dream is to one day have a printer and a Powerbook that both work when I need to do something … I dont dream big, lofty dreams … just to have things that work.

Next week will be a busy week … like I said, we (snowball.com) are launching our first e-commerce site, chickshop.com, and I’ll be product testing all week. Basically making sure the site works on all sorts of browsers … a little boring if you ask me. I’ve spent three weeks looking at this site, and the thought of spending the entire next week clicking through all the links, on three different browsers. It’s the boring part of my job … otherwise, it’s a great gig to have.
