Plays Well With Others

Valentine’s Day Sucks …

Welcome to my very special, “Valentine’s Day and the People Who Celebrate it Can Fuck Themselves” issue.

Happy Fucking Valentine’s Day!! I guess that’s not very Luuuuuuuuuuve Doctorly of me.

Okay, so I’m not that against it, I actually could care less about the whole thing. I’m not that lovey dovey, and seeing everyone run around with baskets of candy, talking about how they are going to have a romantic night just makes me want to puke.

I mean, why dont these people have romantic nights every night, instead of waiting for Feb. 14th to do this crap. And these are the same people who couldnt care less about the holiday when they weren’t involved with anyone. Now they have a significant other, and all of a sudden, it’s so important to be doing something for Valentine’s Day. Give me a break. Everyone running around “Look at me everyone, I have a significant other, we are going to do something great for Valentine’s Day … look at me, look at me … I’m sooooooo speical!” Go to hell, is what I say.

I dont like for holidays to rule me life. I think people should do what they want, regardless of what day it is. You dont have to wait for Valentine’s Day to send a card to your significant other, or to send them a gift, or have a special night out. That’s just me though, everyone has their own thought about it.

Here’s my excitement for the night. Last night, just as Kara and I went to bed, (Our own separate beds, so you filthy minded people won’t write to me) we were awakened by a very loud, hard knocking at our front door. Loud knocking, door bell ringing, it literally sounded like someone was trying to break in.

I jumped out of bed, and threw on something, while Kara ran to the front door asking who it was. By the time, I got to the door, all I could hear is, “this is the police!”.

Kara opened the door, to see a police officer shining a light in her face. I couldnt get to the door fast enough to open it, so the officer then began questioning us about whether we knew our neighbors well, what kind of car they drove, if they drove a gold Mercedes, etc. We told him what we knew, which was very little seeing how we only moved in a few weeks ago. The officer asked a few more questions and then left, not really explaining what was going on.

Kara and I then put our ears to the window to see if we could hear anything, and got the words, “victim” and “accident” out of it. So, we are assuming there was some kind of accident and possibly someone was either injured or killed in it. I hope it isn’t the case, but it’s all we can think of.

Of course, being awakened like that doesnt make it really easy to get back to sleep. First thing both of us though was that it was our upstairs neighbors banging on our door, for some reason. Then I thought the police was sent by them.

I dont know if I’ve told you, but our upstairs neighbors are extremely hard walkers, and then they play the piano all night, lots of noise. So we’ve banged on the ceiling a few times, trying to shut them up, and that’s why we thought it was them at our door.

Whatever the case, Kara and I are trying to get to the bottom of this.

You know how people pass out Valentine’s cards in school. Or maybe they dont do that anymore, am I sounding antiquated right now.

Anyhow, back in my day, in elementary school, we would pass out Valentine’s cards to everyone in our class. It didnt matter if guys were giving cards to guys or to girls or whomever, everyone got one.

Anyhow, I was flipping through my memory book and noticed that I still had a few Valentine’s cards from my fifth grade class. Kind of neat to look back and see things like that.

I hope people still do things like that. It’s probably not thought of as cool anymore. Back in those days, we weren’t trying so hard to be cool, just friendly.

This weekend, I bought those shelves I was talking about in the last entry, and also bought a little filing cabinet and a lamp, all at Target.

I think the guy only charged me for the lampshade and not the rest of the lamp. See at Target you have to buy them separately, I guess so you can choose what it’ll look like. So, I grabbed both pieces and attached the lampshade to the lamp to see what it would look like and he only saw the scan bar on the shade and only scanned that. I actually saw him do it, and was going to tell him, but them he asked me to help him with the scan bar on the side of the other boxes and I forgot. When I got in the card and got home, I realized it. Oh well, free lamp base for me. I’m sure he could care less … Katie can correct me if I’m wrong.

I know when I worked in the store, I didnt care about how things got charged as long as I did my job and got the hell out of there at a decent hour. Well, except for the time I got suspended for selling liquor to a minor, but he was a narc, and it was my birthday, and I was feeling under the weather, so that wasn’t my fault.

Here’s a little attachment for you to enjoy:
