9/11: Let the Lawsuits Begin …
You knew they’d be coming. The lawsuits. The families are suing for everything possible, from the airlines for not preventing the hijacking to the building architects for not designing the buildings better for evacuation. Money grubbers. All of them.
It’s like suing Ford because someone used their car to run you over, or suing Reach because you jammed their toothbrush down your throat and incurred injuries. It’s insane. It’s the American way. Everyone wants their little slice of the pie. Easy money. Whatever way they can get it. Gimme, gimme, gimme. We’ve grieved for our family member, now we’re going to make someone pay for it. You know that’s what the family member would have wanted — NOT.
What a world we live in. You can spill a hot cup of coffee on yourself and sue the restaurant because they didn’t tell you that the coffee was hot. And you win. It doesn’t make sense. Everyone wants the easy out these days.
What makes it even worse is that you know that all of these families already got money for the events on 9/11. Fund after fund has paid them for their losses and now they are going to sue some more to get more money.
Ugh. Makes me sick. Maybe I should yank out the batteries in my fire alarm and then sue the manufacturer for not telling me not to yank the batteries out.
Maybe it’s finally time that people stop suing and start thinking about what’s really important.
