Plays Well With Others

Housewarming: Part 1…

Our first housewarming event went off without a hitch over the weekend. We’d been planning it forever, but had a late start actually getting out invites and by the time we did we kind of though no one would show up. In the end, practicaly the whole family showed up… about fifteen people.

It was nice. At least we now know we can have that many people in the house as one time. Maybe they have to take turns sitting, but at least they are INSIDE the house.

The family is pretty easy to entertain. They pretty much entertain themselves. Lots of catching up, lots of story telling… oh and they found the TiVo very amusing. If I were a reseller, I’d probably have sold one to everyone. They love them some TiVo.

We bbq’d hamburgers and hotdogs and I made some chili and macaroni salad. Easy picnic type food that everyone can eat around the house. We left all the food out on the patio, which made for more room inside.

Another nice thing is that everyone left around eight and we were able to clean everything up by nine. Gotta love paper plates and plastic cups and utensils. Ah.

One housewarming down… the next will be on the 4th of July. The city does fireworks over the lagoon… about two blocks away, so we can all walk down.

Well that too. We have a bathroom and a half bathroom. So if fifteen people have to shit at the same time… well there’s going to be some problems. 🙂

Well with chili and macaroni salad it’s a miracle there wasn’t a mad rush for the bathroom…
