erm, sorry I got carried away, there. I’m sitting at my desk and noticing how many things are plugged into this one outlet. I really dont think they ever ever intended for so many people to use one little outlet. It’s an outlet with enough room for two plugs. It would be a happy outlet with two plugs in it. Instead, we have four power strips attached to it. Two power strips are plugged into the actual outlet, and the other two power strips are plugged into those power strips. We have a total of 24 plugs plugged into these power strips, that are plugged into those two outlets. I’m not sure that fire hazard even applies here. Actually I’m not even sure how the two plug outlet hasnt blown up yet.
We did have an incident a few months back though, where a girl turned on an electric heater, and then someone went to make a photo copy at the same time and blew out the entire building. Not only did they blow out the entire building, but nearly all of the power strips blew up. My coworker still has the scorch marks on his desk, where it caught fire.
The electricians came out and did something and now everything works again, but it’s amazing these things lasted how long they did. I’m glad we are moving to a new building where we will each have our own power strips to blow up.
I can’t wait!
